Download the app to piece together the puzzle of Lian’s family’s past. Have fun using your iPhone to unravel a labyrinth of video clues, oral histories, soundscapes and historic re-enactments as you hunt and search through the streets and laneways of Sydney’s Chinatown.

Interwoven with virtual clues are insights into Chinatown’s real world public art works and architecture. The game begins at the Golden Water Mouth Sculpture, cnr Sussex and Hay Streets, Haymarket and culminates at the Chinese Garden of Friendship, Darling Harbour.

Background
Launched in conjunction with the 2011 City of Sydney Chinese New Year events, CHINA HEART derives its inspiration from artefacts in the Powerhouse Museum Collection. These objects, digitised and integrated into a contemporary love story, play a vital role in China Heart’s journey of discovery.

During the Year of the Rabbit celebrations (January 28 – February 13, 2011) China Heart included a display of the real world artefacts at the Powerhouse Museum, a photographic installation in Albion Place and a performance of Chinese Opera at the Chinese Garden of Friendship, Darling Harbour.
